Common Ground CSA is a woman owned and operated CSA farm located in Olympia, WA. We provide weekly vegetable CSA shares to about 120 families in our community for 25+ weeks of the year, offering those shares on a sliding scale and accepting food stamps in order to make good food accessible to more people. We grow intensively on just about 2 acres within a larger homestead property that includes orchard, pasture for goats and woodland. Much of our cultivation and field management is by hand, with a strong emphasis on field sanitation in order to manage diseases and pests. We do have a rototiller and occasionally use a neighbors small tractor with a rotovator for field prep. We grow organically but are not currently certified.

This job involves being a part of all aspects of small scale vegetable production €“ seed starting, field prep, planting, cultivating, irrigation, compost, harvest and distribution. We’re looking for folks with a serious interest in farming, ability to do heavy work in all weather, joy in working, good communication skills or a willingness to work at it, a cooperative attitude, and personal responsibility. Prior farming experience–or other production work–a plus.

Compensation is hourly, negotiable depending on experience, plus access to fresh produce! Position starts the beginning of April, are ASAP and goes until November. Housing is not included but space in the farm house on-site is sometimes available and can be negotiated separately.
