Farmers Market Staff
Nash’s seeks an energetic, personable, responsible, reliable and physically-fit team member to work local farmers markets.

Responsibilities include working 10-12 hour market days loading trucks, setting up displays, selling veggies, grains, flours, beans, fruits, pork and eggs, providing excellent customer service and representing the farm in a professional manner.  We have a fun and vibrant team that is dedicated to organic produce and farmland preservation.

Applicant must be able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, be comfortable working in all weather conditions, complete mental math, have some knowledge of organic produce/farming, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Weekend availability is non-negotiable.  Pay starts at $10/hr, and perks include easy access to yummy organic fruits and veggies and a knee-slappin’ good time.  Turns out, farmers are fun!

Field Crew Position

We are currently hiring a long-term Field Crew member to start immediately. Our Field Crew is a group of 5 committed and hard-working friends who have been on the farm for 2 to 12 years. Working Monday-Friday, the team assists with all aspects of vegetable production. This year-round position ranges 40-65 hours a week May-December, and from 15-40 January through April.

Compensation starts at $10, depending on experience. Plus all the veggies you want to eat. Affordable farm housing is a possibility.

Essential Job Functions

  • Primary responsibilities include performing field work including but not limited to: greenhouse production, transplanting, hand weeding, hoeing, harvesting and washing/packing produce.
  • A secondary responsibility could be working a farmers market one day a week.
  • For the right candidate, we also seek an individual interested in specializing in milling grain and flour part-time in addition to Field Crew duties. Must be detail orientated and good with machinery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least one season previous farm experience preferred.
  • Hard workers with a sense of responsibility
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong back and knees
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Minimum commitment through Jan 1, 2016.
  • Preference given to those interested in working for Nash’s for multiple years.
  • Consideration will be given to those with past tractor driving experience and/or equipment maintenance experience.
