Field Crew (Full-Time)

Job description: Be a part of the field crew during the peak of the season, mid-June through the end of September. Work days are Monday through Friday. Work hours can range from six to ten hour a day, depending on the daily tasks and/or orders to be filled. Field crew tasks include harvesting, washing and packing produce for sale, weeding, transplanting, setting up and moving irrigation pipe, pruning, trellising, ect.

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs throughout the day, work on your hands and knees or bent over harvesting for extended periods of time. We work in all weather conditions, so you must be able to provide adequate clothing and attitude whether it’s rain or shine.

Work Experience/Skills desired: Interested in people who are excited about working on the land and providing nutritious and delicious food for their family and community. We hope for workers who want to be a part of something greater than themselves, who believe in sustainable agriculture, and who aren’t afraid of hard work.

Previous farm experience is preferred, but not necessary. Experience in other outdoor, physical jobs is  highly valued. Need to be responsible, flexible, hard working, able to take directions, be a good communicator and have previously held a job for 6 months or more.

Salary: $10/hr plus vegetables from the farm, all you can eat!

Farmers Market (Saturday’s now through December)

Job description:   Every Saturday you will be responsible for loading the truck at the farm, taking deliveries into town, unloading and setting up the market display and selling vegetables all day then packing up and taking it all back to the farm. Work starts at 5:30 a.m and the day ends when you return to the farm and complete the truck unpack sometime between 3:00- 4:00 p.m. The actual market runs from 9-2.

Applicant must be extremely reliable and responsible! Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and have a strong back.

Work Experience/ Skills Desired: Above all we need reliable and responsible folks with great customer service skills who can positively represent our farm.  Previous market experience is highly valued as well as a desire to connect with the community around local organic food! Must be able to handle money and make change, work under pressure, be a good communicator, create eye catching and clean displays and be an all around rock solid individual and team player! This is a rewarding job for the right person. We would like our market staff to work at least one day in the field per week as well, preferably Friday harvest as that connects the dots between field and market. Friday harvest runs anywhere from 6-10 hours depending on the season.

Salary: Pay starts at $11/hour with potential for a raise based on market performance.
