Small Organic Orchard Seeks Lead Fruit Packer --Omak, WA

Harvesting Autumn is a small Organic fruit orchard in Omak, WA. We grow a large variety of fruits, some vegetables, and a few animals. We direct market our products through Farmers Markets and a Co-operative group of 6 small farms. We pack all of our fruits onsite to allow ourselves to sell only the freshest fruits because high quality is our priority.

We are looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in learning all facets of small direct market farming to be our lead packer. This position will be a supervisory role and will ensure that the quality we strive for is met. It is a tedious position that will work with up to 10 people at certain times and alone at times. This position will receive at minimum 1 hour a week of one on one paid educational time with the owner. This will be a time to learn more about the farm and its operation than is learned hands on.

This position will primarily include the following duties: Produce packing, quality control, some field work, possible website updating, farmers market direct marketing, off farm sales, and other duties as they arise. To succeed in this position an applicant must be willing to supervise others, have a high understanding of quality as directed, be flexible, strong organizational skills, great customer service, clear communication, a love for organic farming, be able to lift 40lbs and occasionally 50lbs, and above all must be a hard worker that understands the importance of getting produce picked, packed and sold in a manner that will allow the customer to have the best experience possible.

We are located in a very diverse area that has many opportunities for outdoor activities. Minutes from the North Cascade Mountain range, many lakes, and National Forests.

This position will have housing and will last from June 15^th – September 20^th (approx.). Pay is $10.50-$12.00/hr Depending on Ability
