Ekone Ranch is an off-the-grid land trust and working ranch of over 1100 acres. During the summers we run a horseback riding camp for children and in the spring and fall we offer retreat programs, overnight field trips for school groups, trail rides, and other events. We are committed to promoting homestead skills, stewarding and improving the land, and teaching sustainable living to children of all ages. We have a small organic garden, a sustainable forestry program, and produce our own biodiesel.

The intern would help with all aspects of running a food production and educational garden as well as general lodge keeping duties for our community space. Duties would include: Preparing and maintaining garden beds, watering, harvesting, composting, planting seeds and seedlings, maintain community living space and prepare spaces for incoming guests. There is also an opportunity to participate in Sacred Earth Foundation’s extensive forestry project. 30 hours a week. One month minimum stay.

The interns would learn basic food production and garden management, food preservation skills (canning, drying, pickling, etc).
