We are a small urban farm in rural Okanogan town, on the valley floor near the river. We grow lots of lettuce and other greens and a diverse variety of vegetables, herbs and annual fruits. We deliver our crops to wholesale accounts and CSA Members in both the Okanogan and Methow Valleys. We are welcoming an intern or two this year. No farm experience needed but you need to be experienced in working your body and liking to do so. You also need to be co-ordinated and driven toward efficiency. It gets hot and cold here. I will pay you and can offer a clean camping trailer or tent space. Call or email me (Shannon) for more housing and job details. There will be experienced farmers working at your side in the field and packing house a lot, so hands-on learning is easy to accomplish. I love questions from new farmers and am happy to talk about irrigation, soil stewardship, weed control, customer relations, paperwork, plant health, etc. There are other young farmers working in the area and other healthy farms you can visit, as well. A car is very helpful, especially when you just wanna zoom to a nearby swimming lake at 3 in the afternoon! (509) 422-1620
