TerraVine Growers, SPC a grower of organic herbs and produce, located in Ellensburg, Washington, is a Social Purpose Corporation developed by four adults with autism and other intellectual disabilities. The growers have operated on the small-scale farm supported by the Trellis Center for four years selling directly to local restaurants, consumers at the local farmers market and on the farm.
www.thetrelliscenter.com and www.terravinegrowers.com Expectations Our Farm Interns will learn how to plant, cultivate and harvest on the farm. They will also learn how to run a small greenhouse operation and hydroponic techniques. They will learn about sustainable farming practices that include preserving and increasing soil health, companion planting, greenhouse growing and harvesting. The intern will also have an opportunity to learn all the business aspects of farming if desired. Compensation Private housing w/all utilities included during internship; 40hr/week M-F; will work with intern’s schedule, Monthly stipend included.

Were looking for a person who is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and is energized by building relationships with people of all abilities. This internship requires the ability to communicate with others, flexibility in job responsibilities, team player, creativeness and a fun attitude.
They will be working closely with both the Trellis/Terravine Growers Farm Manager. |

Learning Objectives (for Internships)
