Glendale Shepherd is a family owned and operated Grade A dairy farm on beautiful Whidbey Island, committed to sustainable agriculture practices and the production of fine sheep milk cheeses and yogurt. We raise sheep, pigs, chickens and rabbits, and have vegetable gardens for family and intern use. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about lambing and care of ewes and lambs, sheep milking systems, cheese making and food safety, help with farmers markets, and many other daily farm activities. We have been audited and approved for 4 years by Animal Welfare Approved for both dairy and lamb. We sell at local Farmers Markets, cheese shops and restaurants. Intern accommodations are studio apartments, and most meals are family style, with separate cooking available also. Contact Lynn for more information and applications: [email protected]
