Dates: April 4, 2017 through October 31, 2017 (dates are flexible)

Please join us to work hard & play hard in the beautiful Methow Valley of Eastern WA.

Our farm is a small-scale model of organic systems integrated to create meaningful results! We are growing large variety of Organic Heirloom Vegetables on 2+ acres, some Fruit & Poultry. We will teach & demonstrate soil improvement & natural building techniques that are important tools in building community resilience: Bio-Intensive, Composting, Effective Micro-nutrients, High-Tunnel Production, Drip Irrigation and more.

Your stay will be a mix of farming, learning & your own time to enjoy this haven- rivers, mountains, trails, a lovely rural community & moreā€¦the best swimming hole in the Valley, a great General Store close by…where we sell our organic produce!

Soil improvement is a big part of what we do…and maintaining the soil web of life.

Room and board provided plus $880/month and a finishing bonus: pleasant room, Whole Foods Meals (we all cook & we all clean up). This is COMMUNITY: cooperation, kindness, willing hands & hearts REQUIRED.

All phases of row crop production, from planning & seed starting to packing & marketing, and everything in between. We start early to beat the heat…when it is really hot we take a few hours off in the heat, go for a swim, or maybe a bike ride, and finish up as it starts to cool.

There will be one other full-time farm hand plus myself. I am the crazy woman who often works 14 hours a day…you will be required to work 8 hours, work at a steady pace,be able to lift 40 lbs and pay attention. Efficiency is important.

In addition to farming, this year we hope to be building a large-scale Vermiculture System and a Bio Char Pyrolisis Trough

Please contact me via email or phone for an interview.

PS: a VERY well behaved dog may be OK and your own transportation is a plus, although there is a bus into town- getting to trails/events would be easier
