Tilth Action Agenda

One of our goals for Tilth's 30th Anniversary Conference was to stimulate increased grassroots organizing in the Pacific Northwest. During the conference we broke into a series of caucuses to discuss specific action opportunities. Below is information on projects identified prior to the conference.

The Tilth Foundation was formed in spring 2004 to support the sustainable agriculture movement in our region. The foundation is currently initiating a process to facilitate on-going communications among people who attended the T30 conference. Additional information on this program will be available over the next few weeks.

The "T30List" is an interactive email listserve intended to facilitate communication among people who attended Tilth's 30th Anniversary Conference (T30) or who would like to participate in continuing organizing efforts. If you would like to join (or leave) the T30 email listserve, follow the instructions below:.

REGIONAL ACTION PROJECTS

WESTERN OREGON

Farmscaping for Beneficials
Facilitator: Gwendolyn Ellen
The Integrated Plant Protection Center of OSU, Oregon Tilth and organic farmers of the Willamette Valley teamed up to form the Farmscaping for Beneficials Project. This is a community IPM project that is promoting the use of conservation biological control methods such as beetle banks and insectary plantings on the farm.
The project has hosted seven farm walks that highlight insect biodiversity and techniques that farmers use to enhance populations of beneficial insects. The project is interested in working with any farmer who has a desire to bugscape their farm and help keep the project community driven.
