Position Description

The Tilth Producers of Washington Education Coordinator is responsible for providing education, training, information, and other resources about organic and sustainable farming practices to farmers, landowners, educators, industry specialists and other stakeholders. The position oversees Tilth Producers educational programming, including an annual farm walk series, one-day and hands-on workshops, and conference workshops. The Education Coordinator also supports or leads special programs to further the mission and goals of Tilth Producers and works with other staff to ensure successful implementation of all organizational programming and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the organization’s mission and strategic vision through the creation and execution of work plans and engagement in regular review of programs, goals and strategies.
  • Facilitate education and training about organic and sustainable agriculture for new and experienced growers.
  • Develop and maintain active relationships with partners, collaborators, and stakeholders in planning and delivering education events.
  • Assist in the development and management of the organic research networking program for scientists, graduate students, and farmers.
  • Develop and implement permanent member information resources, both print materials and online.
  • Coordinate registration and outreach to publicize educational events.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records and statistics on all activities.
  • Plan, publicize and execute statewide educational offerings, including an annual slate of farm walks, one-day workshops, and conference programming.
  • Analyze and identify gaps and priority educational and support needs of farmers.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Four years college education or equivalent professional experience; B.S. in Agriculture or related life sciences field preferred.
  • Two years of organic and/or sustainable farming experience.

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of organic agriculture practices and the organic industry (expert level).
  • Familiarity with USDA organic rules and organic certification.
  • Proven track record in project coordination, management, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs,
  • Experience with WordPress and Adobe Suite.
  • Ability to generate thorough reports and presentations.
  • Effective interpersonal communication, with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Experience working with teams to accomplish goals.
  • Willingness to present a positive image of the organization to members and the community.
  • Outgoing, friendly personality, and ability to develop good rapport with others.
  • Possess an enhanced awareness of cultural competency and diversity.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

 

Compensation

  • The Education Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position; occasional evening and weekend hours are required.
  • Position is eligible for benefits after six (6) months.
  • Pay is DOE, $38,000 – $42,000.

Position Description

The Tilth Producers of Washington Member Services Coordinator is responsible for all activities related to membership support, including production and online expansion of the Tilth Producers directory; audience development for the annual conference; consumer education, including outreach and events; and member information services, including online resource development and implementation. The Member Services Coordinator will also work with other staff as needed to ensure successful implementation of all organizational programming and events.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the organization’s mission and strategic vision through the creation and execution of work plans and engagement in regular review of programs, goals and strategies.
  • Provide membership support services for current, new, and potential members, including general communications and audience development for educational programming and events.
  • Coordinate and lead consumer education activities including Washington Organic Week events.
  • Develop and implement permanent member information resources, both print materials and online.
  • Enlist, organize and provide guidance to member and non-member volunteer pools for outreach events and educational program support.
  • Coordinate registration and outreach to publicize events and activities of interest to members.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records and statistics on all activities.
