Stone Fruit Farm

StonefruitFarm We have a passion for local food systems, ethical eating, and delicious fresh produce. We are excited to grow good things for life and share them with you. We grow things that support, sustain and enhance lives. We want to share quality food, healthy eating and a sense of connectedness to the earth and each other with our members. Before farming Brett and Russ gained life experience in different industries and organizations bringing a variety of life knowledge to the farm. Russ worked as a stage hand in New York and Washington, DC for 10 years before moving to Washington State in 2008. After moving to the Seattle area, he worked several small jobs, including vacuum repair and apartment management. He worked one season as a farm intern at Jubilee Farm — his only farming experience beyond backyard gardens. Russ sings show tunes in the fields. On Fridays, his favorite thing to do is two-step. He likes to bake bread, mend fences, wear polo shirts, eat delicious food, and cook new things. He loves animals and while he doesn’t hunt, supports the rights of others to do so — especially with a bow and arrow. He loves unions and everything they stand for. Brett has been a community organizer for over 10 years — working on issues of economic, social and racial justice. He has been obsessed with food systems, leading him to be a vegan for over a decade. Brett has a grown daughter and a beautiful grandson, both of whom can be found visiting the farm and helping out.
